Over sixty years have passed since the establishment of the Oja-Oba Central Mosque. On February 22, 2023, the Iseyin Central Mosque was dedicated by a group of dignitaries and Islamic leaders from various backgrounds, led by His Eminence Muhamadu Sa’ad Abubakar, the sultan of Sokoto.
Alhaji Ahmed Raji, a Nigerian Senior Advocate who was born in Iseyin, rebuilt the mosque. Under the multimillion-Naira renovation, which began a few months ago, the central mosque’s exterior and interior were both renovated.
The exterior of the mosque was tiled with Mabel materials, adding a touch of contemporary beauty. The building has a dome with minarets on top of it. Within, the building’s interior features Arabic calligraphy. This exploration of religious architecture in Iseyin showcases the integration of tradition and contemporary innovation.
A brand-new Toyota Hiace bus for the League of Imam and Alfas in the Iseyin local government and an SUV for Abdul Akeem Olajori, the Chief Imam of Iseyin, were also donated by Raji, a well-known legal luminary and philanthropist.
