A student from Eastleigh, Kenya named Munira Abdifatah Abdi Farah wins Ksh2 million in the 2022 Quran recitation competition in Dubai. Out of 300 contestants from around the world, she placed among the top 10.
Munira, 15, of Kenya is the 2022 World Quran Recitation Champion after placing eighth in the Dubai-based World Competition. After triumphing in a matchup both locally and at the East and Central Africa Competition held in Rwanda in July, she represented Kenya in the yearly competition.
“I am grateful that I finished among the top 10 competitors in Quran recitation in Dubai from a pool of 300 competitors across the world,” she said.
At a Kenyan airport yesterday, Munira Abdifatah Abdi Farah was welcomed with joy by her parents, family members, and her teacher, Sheikh Rois Ahmed, the Director of Daarul Qur’an Kareem.
Munira won a cash price of Sh2 Million in the World Quran Recitation Competition in Dubai. She finished position eight out of 300.
