At the sixth edition of the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Holy Qur’an Competition for women in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Aisha Abubakar Hussain, a young woman from Kano’s Dorayi Quarters in Nigeria, took second place.

Aisha recited with a calm and soothing voice that amazed us all. She is a true role model for all students of the Quran and we are extremely proud of her hard work and efforts.

The competition, which was hosted at the Dubai Culture and Science Society from October 1 to 7, attracted participants from fifty different nations.

Aisha Abubakar Hassan of Nigeria and Shima Anfal Tabani of Algeria tied for second and third place, respectively, behind Aindati Sisi of Senegal.

The participants, according to the organizers, “were ladies who had mastered tajweed in Quran memorization. Additionally, they must be under 25 years old.

A total of 350,000 dirhams were awarded to the first place winner, 200,000 dirhams to the second, and 150.000 dirhams to the third. Other competitors who excelled in the competition received handsome rewards as well.

Every year, the event for women all over the world is hosted and organized by the Dubai International Holy Qur’an Award, or DIHQA.

Nigeria, with its numerous notable landmark accomplishments, is without a doubt a significant center for Islamic knowledge and civilization.
