The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has formally inaugurated a new board of the State Muslim Pilgrims’ Board, urging members to serve with integrity and honesty.
The Chairman and Board members were inaugurated yesterday at the Deputy Governor’s Office in Ilorin.
The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, stated that board members were nominated on the basis of public confidence. Given the complexity of the task at hand, he expressed confidence that they would exceed expectations.
Governor AbdulRazaq advised the newly inaugurated members of the Muslim Pilgrims’ Board to use their extensive knowledge to carry out the vital public service that has been allocated to them.
He further urged them to view their new duty as an act of worship, as they are expected to not only bear the numerous realities of serving varied individuals with varying values and requirements, but also to ensure the overall wellbeing of Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Responding, Prof. Mashood Jimba, the new Chairman of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board, thanked the government for the rare opportunity to serve the state.
He stated that, despite the enormity of the task at hand, they were prepared to go to any length to make it a success while also defending the name of the government and people of the State.
