The Qatari government announced on Thursday that over 1,000 orphans from the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno state will be assisted while establishing the groundwork for a new elementary school.
The Qatari ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Ali Bn Ghanem Al-Hajari, made the statement in Maiduguri during a meeting with the governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, at the Government House. He stated vital help would be provided for about 1000 orphans in Borno.
While in Maiduguri, Mr Ghanem lay the groundwork for the construction of a new primary school in support of the government’s initiative to provide a suitable learning environment.
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum assisted him in setting the school’s foundation stone, during which he expressed the Qatar Government’s commitment to supporting Borno.
Remember that in January, Governor Zulum lay the groundwork for an orphanage center being built by the Qatar Charity Organization. During the courtesy call at the government residence, Zulum thanked the Qatari government for its support and promised to provide an enabling atmosphere.
The ambassador was accompanied on the tour by his assistant, Mr Abdullah Hilal Alnuimi, and the Country Director of Qatar Charity.
