“I sacrificed part of my social life”- Binta Muftar Ahmed, Al-Hikmah Versity’s 21-year-old First-class Graduate


At the Al-Hikmah University’s 12th convocation event in Ilorin, Kwara State, Binta Muftar Ahmed stole the show. She won 12 awards, including cash prizes, for being the top student in her class.

A first-class degree in Accounting and Finance was earned by the 21-year-old from Funtua LGA in Katsina State.

She said, “I sacrificed part of my social life and limited my other activities, including sleep. It was tough but I worked hard to achieve the goal I set for myself. I was moderately social in school. I didn’t involve myself in all social activities and so was hardly distracted.”

Al-Hikmah is an Islamic university founded in 2005 by AbdulRaheem Oladimeji Islamic Foundation based in Nigeria and World Assembly of Muslim Youths based in Jeddah.

The first Islamic/faith-based university in the country, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, has produced a total of 1,280 graduates, among whom are 25 first class degree winners in its 2021/2022 academic session.

The school indicated that 362 graduates obtained second class (Upper Division), 566 bagged second class (Lower Division), while 94 got third class respectively.that 362 graduates obtained second class (Upper Division), 566 bagged second class (Lower Division), while 94 got third class respectively.

Adding that the university produced a total number of 1,047 undergraduates, 184 postgraduates and 49 diplomas in the outgoing academic year.
