We’ll Observe Eid At Obalende Muslim Prayer Ground Despite Land Tussle With DSS– Lagos Central Mosque

Despite the ongoing land issue, the Muslim community in Lagos will attend Eid-al-Fitri prayers at the Obalende Muslim prayer ground, according to Alhaji Sikiru Alabi-Macfoy, Executive Vice Chairman of the Lagos Central Mosque.

The Jamaatul Muslimeen Council, also known as the Lagos Central Mosque, and Department of State Services (DSS) employees at Dodan Barracks have reportedly been at odds over the prayer area for some time, The Muslim Voice report noted.

President Muhammadu Buhari met with the Muslim community last month and vowed to settle the dispute in two weeks. He then established a committee under the direction of the Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.

The Muslim Voice discovered that the committee visited the location last week with Muslims under the direction of Sheikh AbdulAfeez Abou, Baba Adinni of Lagos and Executive Chairman of the Lagos Central Mosque.
