Haramain Sharifain to Return to Full Capacity From Sunday – Saudi Officials


The return of full capacity in the Haramain Sharifain from Sunday, 11 Rabi Al Awwal 1443 corresponding to 17 October 2021, was communicated on Friday by the Ministry of Interior, Saudi Arabia.

The President of the Two Holy Mosques, Sheikh Sudais announces readiness of Haramain Sharifain to recieve Pilgrims and worshipers with full capacity from Sunday.

The initial issued protocols by the ministry noted that: Masjid Al Haram and Masjid Al Nabawi will be restored to full capacity; Access to the Haramain Sharifain will be limited to completely vaccinated individuals aged 12 years and above; Mandatory to use Masks inside Masjid Al Haram and Masjid Al Nabawi at all times; and Mandatory to obtain permits for Salat, Umrah, Salah in Rawdah and Ziyarah from the Tawakalana or Eatmarna Applications.

The two Holy Sites in Makkah and Madinah were partially closed last year during Ramadan, as only a limited number of adherents were allowed to offer prayers in the facilities – usually the cleaners and the Imams – all the time while observing strict physical distancing routines.
