Saudi Airlines Resumes Activity At Aminu Kano International Airport


The Saudi based airline operator has restarted its operations at the Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA).

The Muslim Voice findings reveal that the exercise featured a grand ceremony conducted at the airport on Saturday.

Saudi Arabian head of the Consular Mission in Kano, Khalid Ali Ahamad Adamawi while speaking at the event noted that, “the resumption was conceived to accord the intending Umrah pilgrims smooth opportunity to travel to the holy land.”

Adamawi stated that, he was highly impressed with the sophisticated facilities he met on ground which had gingered his confidence to be optimistic about hitch free flights operations from Kano to the holy land thrice a week.

He laid emphasis on observing COVID-19 protocol, which has become imperative, for the safety of intending Umrah pilgrims.

“Installing the state of the art facilities at the International wing of the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), is a clear demonstration of the Nigerian government commitment towards putting hope in the minds of the Saudi Arabian government that the resumption of the suspended flights operation would be feasible,” Adamawi added.

At the occasion, the President of Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACIMMA), Dalhatu Usman commended the Saudi Arabian government for taking the decision to resume the normal flights operations in Kano thrice weekly.

Dalhatu described the resumption as a milestone in boosting Commercial activities in Kano State being the commercial nerve centre of Northern Nigeria.

In addition, he indicated that, the resumption of international flights at MAKIA is a great development in the aspect of reviving commercial activities, especially with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic which had a negative impact on business.
