The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad III, has emphasized that amidst the prevailing hardships endured by many Nigerians, the paramount remedy lies in reconnecting with God through fervent prayers.
He attributed the widespread suffering to a collective departure from the divine path, citing Quranic references to support his assertion. Speaking at the inauguration of a Jum’ah Mosque in Guzape, Abuja, constructed by the Jama’atu Izalatil Bidi’a Wa’kamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), the Sultan, represented by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, urged sincere supplications for divine intervention rather than superficial gestures. He stressed the Quranic promise of eventual relief following periods of adversity.
Echoing similar sentiments, the Chairman of the Council of Scholars of JIBWIS, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, directed a clarion call towards Nigerian judges, urging them to eschew corrupt practices. Furthermore, he implored all public officeholders to uphold principles of integrity and transparency in the discharge of their duties.
The distinguished guests in attendance included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Ali Pantami, as well as former governors, senators, and other dignitaries.
