Two grants from Innovative UK totaling £182,442 have been received by Dr. Islamiyat Folashade Bolarinwa, an associate professor of food science and deputy dean in the faculty of food and consumer sciences at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso in collaboration with some academics in the University of Leeds.

According to the school, the purpose of the first grant of £29,726 whose tenure runs between October 1,2022 and March 31, 2023, is to increase the availability of high protein foods and reduce Protein-energy malnutrition.
Similarly, the second grant of £152,715, running for April 2023 to July 2024, is to serve the purpose of reducing post-harvest losses of food crops and increase food security. They are both under the Knowledge Transfer Partnership.”
