Student Graduates with First Class, Breaks 40-Year Record at UNILORIN

Alamu Azeez Adebayo, an Iwo native, is the first University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) alumnus to receive a first-class degree in political science throughout the institution’s 47-year history.

As the first graduate with a First Class 40 years after the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ilorin was founded, the young man, Alamu Azeez Adebayo, also known as “Mr. Nigeria,” has broken the jinx.

On October 25, UNILORIN was listed among the world’s best universities in 11 subjects/disciplines, as contained in the Time Higher Education 2023 Subject Rankings.

The institution was ranked best among the 48 Nigerian universities captured in the latest evaluation exercise, known as the World Universities Rankings, based on universal and meticulous yardsticks of measuring services offered in ivory towers. The Faculties are Social Sciences, Engineering, Law, Clinical and Health Sciences, Life Sciences as well as Physical Sciences.
