We’ve all heard the hadith that says, “to smile in the face of your brother or sister is an act of charity,” according to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Putting a grin on their face, however, is an even greater act of kindness. So, how do we put a smile on other people’s faces during these trying times?
Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى gave people an inbuilt desire to adore those who are kind to them. A person who greets people with a grin alleviates their anxieties and worries while also spreading peace and comfort. This is because smiling is a desirable trait, and the person who smiles is praised.
Smiling is a kind act and the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He ﷺ was well known to have a pleasant smiling face, and it is part of one’s character. Companions of Holy Prophet are also kind-hearted, well-mannered and have a smiling face. Islam mostly spread through the kind and sweet behavior of Muhammad ﷺ.
The Messenger of Allah Muhammad ﷺ said: “To smile in the company of your brother is charity. ” (Bukhari)
Nothing seems to have more power to improve one’s mood than the impact of a genuine grin. The benefits of a smile extend not just to the person who receives the kind gesture, but also to the one who smiled in the first place. “A smile is a small curve that straightens out a lot of things.”
Adopting the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a Muslim provides us with several bodily benefits as well as numerous rewards in the afterlife. For us, the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the true way of guidance. As a result, it is desirable for us to follow Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ Sunnah in order to achieve success and rewards in this life and the next.
We may convey the message of Islam by being nice, smiling, and loving one another. Always have a positive attitude and cultivate positive relationships with those around you. May Almighty Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى grant us the fortitude to follow Muhammad’s Sunnah ﷺ. Aameen!
