The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Forum of Executive Secretaries of States Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board have pledged to work together and close ranks ahead of the Hajj 2022 preparations.
The forum met with NAHCON Chairman Barr Zikrullah Hassan, NAHCON Commissioners, and the commission’s secretary in his office in Abuja on Thursday, the Executive Secretary of Kano State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Alh Muhammad Abbah Dambatta, who is also the forum’s vice chairman, confirmed the development to MUSLIM VOICE.
After a disagreement over the execution of the Hajj Saving Scheme, the group was escorted to the NAHCON office by the Chairman of the Forum of Executive of State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh Idris AlMakura, to discuss how to move the Hajj business ahead and focus on Hajj 2022.

The forum also agreed to continue supporting NAHCON in its efforts to execute a hitch-free hajj in 2022, as well as to develop a robust in-house interface to resolve conflicts in the pilgrims’ best interests.
He said, “Today the forum meets to discuss preparation for hajj 2022 and the disagreement over the implementation of Hajj savings Scheme. After exhaustive deliberations, we decided to meet with NAHCON Chairman Barr Zikrullah Hassan and his management team to chart the way forward. I am happy to inform you that we have agreed to resolves whatever differences and immediately begin preparation for Hajj 2022 which is just a few weeks away.”
