Missing Ijebu-Ode Neighbourhood Imam Found Murdered in The Car


Shaykh Mushafau Bakare, the Chief Imam of Atiba community in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, who believed to be in his 60’s was declared missing few day’s ago. He was found by the police this morning in his car dead, the Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) announced earlier today.

Describing the sad event, the Ogun State Police Command, through it Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said, “A patrol team of Police saw his vehicle parked along Ikangba road in the morning, upon their return, they saw the same vehicle at the same spot. There and then, they disembarked to query why the vehicle had not left the same place hours after.

“When they opened the vehicle which was not locked, they found the Chief Imam lifeless without any mark of violence on him. His phone was equally found by his side,” the PPRO said.

Oyeyemi noted that the cleric was declared missing on Tuesday by his family members and the case was reported at a police station.

In addition, Oyeyemi, stated that the deceased was not kidnapped as widely speculated, according to the Tribune Online.
