Kano Hisbah Apprehends Truck with 24,000+ Bottles of Alcohol


The Kano State Hisbah Board has taken decisive action by apprehending a truck laden with an extensive quantity of more than 24,000 bottles encompassing various alcoholic beverages.

This interception occurred along Zaria Road in Kano, resulting in the arrest not only of the truck driver but also of two additional individuals involved in this illicit activity.

Alhaji Abba Sufi, the Director-General of the State Hisbah Board, officially disclosed this significant development through a statement, thoughtfully articulated and signed by the board’s dedicated Public Relations Officer, Mr. Lawan Ibrahim-Fagge, on a Wednesday in Kano.

The revelation emphasize the proactive stance adopted by Hisbah personnel in the state, diligently enforcing a policy of zero tolerance towards the clandestine smuggling of beer and other intoxicating substances into the region.

The board’s commitment to upholding moral and legal standards is manifest in its resolute efforts to curb the influx of such contraband, ensuring the preservation of the community’s values and adherence to established regulations.
