Amidst expressions of joy and celebration, Saheed Oladele, Chairman of Erudite Group, is poised to be honored with the esteemed title of Baamẹkọ of Ibadanland.
This significant accolade is to be bestowed upon Oladele by the revered Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood Ọlálékan Balogun, Allí-Okunmade II, in a ceremony scheduled for Saturday, December 9, at the Olúbàdàn Palace in Ibadan.
A letter signed by Comrade Morufu Asudemade and Mrs. Oluwatoyin Okediran-Adeyemi on behalf of the Committee of Friends conveys warm felicitations to Oladele. The committee acknowledges him as the visionary leader of Erudite Millennium Ltd., consistently bringing pride to Ibadan, Oyo state, and Nigeria through commendable initiatives in education. The prestigious title of Baamẹkọ is deemed a noteworthy recognition of Oladele’s outstanding contributions to education, both locally and on the global stage.
Meanwhile, leading Nigerian Universities have expressed interest in honoring Oladele with an oratory contest, as noted by The Precision. The inaugural edition of the contest, scheduled for December 9, 2023, at the Trenchard Hall of the University of Ibadan, will witness students from seven Nigerian universities engaging in a war of words. Besides Covenant, UI, and OAU, other participating universities include the University of Ilorin, LAUTECH, FUTA, and LASU. The contest, titled “Nigeria’s educational system and the dilemma of meeting 21st Century global standards,” is anticipated to offer a compelling narrative on the state of the Nigerian educational system in a world of disruptive innovation and fast-paced information.
In addition, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, expressed pride in one of its alumni, Mr. Saheed Oladele, as reported by Sikiru Obarayese of the Nigerian Tribune. Adebowale, in his congratulatory message, affirmed that the University of Ibadan, Oladele’s alma mater, firmly supports him. He prayed for continued strength for the Erudite Group Chair, expressing confidence in Oladele’s future endeavors.
