Shaykh Omar Suleiman: “Finally found a Tangaran that fits my head”


America based Islamic scholar, Shaykh Omar Suleiman has expressed his love for a traditional Hausa cap, Tangaran also known as Hula, Bama cap and Taguia.

Tangaran is a cap, prized across the whole of Africa for its intricate embroidery and unique design. But in Nigeria, Tangaran type of Hausa cap is made in Borno state. They are the best caps you can find anywhere, best-knitted.

In Abuja, Nigeria he started by saying, “Loving everything about Abuja. Beautiful gathering last night with Dawah for Jannah, and @1ummahng convention off to a wonderful start today.

“Finally found a Tangaran that fits my head, and got fitted by @mirageapparels. I think I’m set for Eid Inshā’Allāh:)”

He shared a photo of himself with some Muslim brothers in Abuja. Many fans reacted online.

One wrote: “Masha’Allah! Looks good on you Sheikh. Happy to see Sheikh Suleiman visit my home country Nigeria.” Another wrote: “Sheikh today, you are Looking more like a Hausa-Fulani tribe. Welcome to Abuja.”

Imam Omar Suleiman, who is the Founder and President of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research and a professor of Islamic Studies at Southern Methodist University. He is in Nigeria for International Peace and Unity Convention 2022 taking place in Abuja.
