This week, the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja will host the official release of the holy Qur’an in Igbo. The initiative’s promoters claim that their mission is to distribute it to residents in the southeast region of Nigeria.

Mallam Muhammed Muritala Chukwuemeka, the person who carried out the translation, claimed that it took him five years to finish.

The holy Qur’an will be released in Igbo on Friday, July 1, according to a group of Muslims from the country’s southeast. On Tuesday, June 28, representatives of the Mallam Muhammed Muritala Chukwuemeka-led Igbo Muslims Da’wah Group made this information known to the Daily Trust newspaper. The translated Qur’an, according to Mallam Chukwuemeka and his team, would be used to communicate Allah’s message to his Igbo brothers.

Islam, according to Chukwuemeka, a native of the Imo state, is a religion of peace that condemns the killing of one’s fellow human beings.

He admitted that it took him five fruitful years to finish the translation.

It took me at least five years to finish the translation, he claimed. We are calling on well-to-do Nigerians to assist in the mass production of the holy book. Presently, we have printed 500 copies and 100 copies have already been sent to the southeast.
