Inspector Idoko Eucharia Alimat, Nigeria’s first female police officer to wear the head covering, was recognized at the Oriwu Central Mosque’s Ramadan Public Lecture in Ikorodu on the 16th day of Ramadan 1443AH, which corresponds to Sunday, April 17th, 2022.
Mrs Alimat who hails Enugu State converted to Islam a few years ago and now follows its precepts completely.
Shaykh Muyideen Bello, Oniwasi Agbaye, congratulated her on her achievement and prayed for her. He also advised female Muslim officers in the force to emulate her exemplary behavior.
Her contribution to the emancipation of hijab wearers in the police force was also recognized by His Eminence Shaykh Yahya Olorunoshebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi As-Samadaani, Chief Imam Jamiu of Oriwu Central Mosque, Ikorodu.
