Lagos based litigator, Ahmed Adetola-kazeem was elected as the President of the Mandela Fellowship Alumni Association of Nigeria (MWFAAN) following an election organised recently.
The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship programme of the U.S. Government’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). Mandela Washington Fellows are accomplished leaders and have established records of promoting innovation and positive impact in their communities and countries through Business, Civic Engagement and Public Management. In 2017, Ahmed became a Mandela Washington Fellow.
The President-Elect of one the most powerful youth led organization in Nigeria, Ahmed Adetola-kazeem, said “I initially didn’t plan to contest, but having diligently served the Association in the past one year as the National Secretary/Legal Adviser I was overwhelmingly urged to run for the Presidency by many members of the Association. I consulted widely and also sought the guidance of Allah.”
“I am grateful to Allah for granting me victory and I pray that he makes my tenure a very impactful one not only for members of the Association but for Nigeria as a whole. I will be counting on your advice, support and prayers to ensure I successfully deliver on my mandate,” he added.
Currently, Ahmed Adetola-kazeem, MCIArb (UK) is the Executive Director of Prisoners’ Rights Advocacy Initiative (PRAI) and a counsel at Gani Adetola-Kaseem (SAN) LP. Also, he is a member of the board of trustees, Lagos Public Interest Law Partnership (LPILP).
