Shari’a Council President, Sheikh Hadiyyatullahi buried in Iwo


The President, Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, Sheikh Abdulrosheed Hadiyyatullah died on Monday, 28th of April, at the age of eighty-one was buried in his hometown in Iwo in Osun State.

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole led the federal Government delegation to the burial.

Meanwhile, President, Bola Tinubu, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Sheikh Sheikh Abdur-Rasheed Hadiyyatullah

In a statement by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu described the late Islamic scholar as a devoted servant of Islam and humanity, who led with wisdom and impacted many through his Shariah College in Iwo, Osun State.

The President also remembered Sheikh Hadiyyatullah’s pivotal role during the 2023 general elections, praising the Council’s principled stance under his leadership against what he called “lies and propaganda’.
