In addition to the federal government’s three-day Eid-el-Fitr holiday, Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda has designated Friday, April 12, 2024, as a work-free day.
Dr. Bala Salisu Zango, the state commissioner of information and culture, made a statement on Tuesday.”Katsina State Government decision to declare Friday as work free day follow the good gesture of Federal Government for extending Eid-el-Fitr public holidays to Thursday 11th of this month,” the statement went on to say.
According to the statement, the governor has taken steps to ensure that state personnel can fully celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr Sallah holiday with their families.
Gov Radda then wishes the wonderful people of Katsina a joyous and peaceful Sallah festival.
He also advised people to be security alert and to pray for peace in the state and throughout the country as they celebrate Sallah this year.
Recall that the federal government had previously declared a two-day public holiday for Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, but had to extend it by a third day due to a lack of sighting of the Shawwal moon, bringing the holiday to Thursday.
