Worshipers Attacked During Ramadan Prayer in Niger

Hoodlums barricaded Kuta Road in Minna, the capital of Niger State, early Friday morning, attacking citizens on their way to Tahajud prayers.

Residents told Daily Trust that the event occurred at 1 a.m., as they were about to say Tahajud prayers.Aliyu Isah, one of the residents, claimed that hoodlums armed with hazardous weapons have been publicly keeping residents hostage in Minna for the past five days.

When reached, the Niger State officers Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, stated that officers were on top of the matter.

He went on to say, “Police patrol teams have always been responding to the issue, and arrests were being made at every location of the scene.”He stated that their main areas of operation are Kpakungu, Soje, Anguwan Daji, Limawa, and Ogbomosho, among others.
