Bandits Shoot Politician During Ramadan Prayers, Kidnap Family

On Saturday night, bandits raided Mairuwa village in Katsina State’s Faskari local government area, killing Muslims observing prayer.

At least two people were killed and another was injured during the attack. According to reports, one of the deceased was a notable figure who went by the name Alhaji Lado. He was suspected of being the primary target of the assault.

According to a source who described the deceased as a businessman, politician, and large-scale farmer, the victim was slain because he refused to follow his assassins’ demands. “They opened fire on him when they attempted to kidnap him but he refused to follow them,” a person familiar with the matter claimed.

One of the mosque attack survivors told the reporters that the terrorists took Alhaji Lado’s wife and his two daughters.

An eyewitness told our reporter that the other victim of the incident was a health worker who he only identified as Sani.

“He was employed at the Mairuwa Health Facility,” the witness mentioned.

Katsina has been severely affected by banditry, despite numerous efforts to curb the activities of the criminals yielding little success.
