Ramadan: Buni allocates N100 million for daily feeding

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has granted N100,000,000.00 to feed 16,800 underprivileged and vulnerable people in the state’s 17 local government areas during Ramadan.

Yusuf Umar, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ethical Reorientation, made this statement while overseeing the food’s distribution to contractors and vendors who will take care of Damaturu’s feeding program.

According to the commissioner, governor Buni made the gesture as part of his efforts to connect with the public during Ramadan, particularly the less fortunate members of society.

Furthermore he said, the administration has increased the number of feeding centers from the original 67 to 84, with the goal of feeding at least 200 people per day at each location.

He went on to say that the Buni government had sanctioned N100 million for the Ramadan feeding program and that all food items and other materials had been given to food vendors and contractors for use.
In addition to demanding that the vendors and contractors treat their work as a service to mankind by providing the meals as such, Umar also threatened to have the government keep an eye on all of their operations to ensure that the money they spend is being spent wisely.
