Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, former Zamfara state governor and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, has begun distributing 358 trucks of food that he donated to the state’s less fortunate throughout 14 local governments.
The gift will aid 17,500 poor households across the state. The grains contained 358 trucks of various foodstuffs like as rice, millet, sugar, and maize for the inhabitants of the state, regardless of political affiliation.
Yari, speaking through the chairman of the Yari Ramadan Package Distribution Committee, Sen. Tijjani Yahaya, at the event in Talata Mafara town, the headquarters of Talata Mafara local government on Monday, stated that the gesture was intended to allow the beneficiaries to begin the holy month with relative ease.
“Under the arrangement, 17,500 households in each of the 13 out of 14 local government areas of the state are to receive the said items while 22,500 households are targeted in Gusau local government areas,” he added.
The senator urged rich Muslims to embrace the month of Ramadan to help those in need in their communities.
