President of Nigeria, Alhaji Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow at the demise of Baba Adini of Lagos, Sheikh Abdul-Hafeez Aṣhamu Abou Nolla.
Sheikh Abdul-Hafeez Aṣhamu Abou Nolla, is the Chairman of the Executive Council of Lagos Central Mosque. He was aged 101. A veteran islamic scholar of repute, a Haafizul Qur’an and a graduate of the prestigious Al-Azhar Islamic University of Cairo, Egypt.
According to a statement released by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu mourned with a heavy heart, extending condolences to Baba’s family, the Muslim community in Lagos, and the Lagos State Government.
Abou Nolla, a well-known Islamic scholar and one of the most influential Islamic clerics in Lagos, Nigeria, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, Muslim Voice reports.
President Tinubu said: “Baba dedicated his life to the service of the people. He lived a full life guided by the highest and noblest moral codes. He was a fine example for all of us. He will be sorely missed. We should take solace in Baba’s legacy and uphold his values of honesty, dignity, and sacrifice.”
“May Almighty Allah grants Sheikh Abdul Hafeez Abou Nolla the highest station in Al-Jannah Firdaus,” he added.
