Emir of Kano Affirms Ongoing Efforts for North-South Peace

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has unequivocally expressed his commitment to the identification and promotion of activities that contribute to the fostering of peace between the North, the South-East, and all regions in Nigeria.

This affirmation of dedication was conveyed during his speech at the recent unveiling of the Peace in South-East Project (PISE-P) in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State. The initiative, spearheaded by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu, aims to address security challenges in the South-East region through a non-kinetic approach.

In his address, Emir Bayero highlighted the significance of maintaining peaceful coexistence between the North and the East, as well as all regions of the country. He stressed the imperative nature of fostering dialogue, diplomacy, mutual respect, understanding, and collaboration, transcending tribal differences for the collective prosperity of the nation. The Emir specifically urged Deputy Speaker Kalu to utilize the platform created by his esteemed position to address the needs of the poor and indigent in society, thereby contributing to mitigating their economic challenges.

Furthermore, Emir Bayero called for additional prayers to seek divine guidance and sustain unity and peace among Nigerians. He emphasized the importance of Deputy Speaker Kalu’s leadership in advocating for the upliftment of the less privileged. The Emir urged elected representatives to establish foundations and endowments, particularly in areas such as education, skill acquisition, and entrepreneurship, to alleviate the economic hardships faced by many Nigerians.

In his concluding remarks, the Emir extended congratulations to Deputy Speaker Kalu, expressing well-wishes for continued blessings and success. He assured the Deputy Speaker that, by the special grace of God Almighty, even greater achievements lie ahead.
