The Guild of Muslim Professionals (GMP) is set to hold a two-day convention in Lagos State on Saturday, December 23, and Sunday, December 24, 2023, marking its 10th anniversary and highlighting its commitment to uniting Muslim professionals for political, economic, and thought leadership.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Akeem Oyewale, Chairman of the GMP Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer of Marble Capital Limited, revealed the details of the event. Oyewale expressed excitement about celebrating the organization’s 10th anniversary, emphasizing the convention’s enriching experience with distinguished speakers, including renowned scholars, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and life and relationship coaching experts. The event aims to provide a unique opportunity for participants to gain insights, share experiences, and engage in thought-provoking discussions.
Keynote speakers for the conference include Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB); Mr. Modupe Kadri, the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of MTN Nigeria; Hajiya Kafilat Araoye, the Managing Director of Lotus Bank; Dr. Jubril Salahudeen, Executive Director of Marketing and Sales, Citiserve Ltd; Hajiya Saidat Otiti, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Baytuzeenah; and Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Oyewale announced that the conference would span two days, with esteemed speakers addressing the central theme and other pertinent issues relevant to Muslim professionals on the first day. The event is scheduled to take place at the prestigious Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, under the theme ‘Building Bridges of Progress.’ It aims to foster connections among Muslim professionals, offering a unique blend of professional development, faith exploration, and nation-building.
In addition to professional growth, GMP’s convention provides a platform for spiritual reflection and growth. Oyewale highlighted the organization’s commitment to offering support, mentorship, and spiritual guidance during the convention, with the goal of empowering members to become successful professionals, role models, and catalysts for positive change.
