At the 13th convocation ceremony of Al-Hikmah University, Ibrahim Nafisa Abdulmumini was named the best graduating student of the class of 2023 from the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agricultural Science.
Nafisa, 22, studied Agriculture and finished with a record 4.90. She posted on X to commemorate her achievement:

Meanwhile, the convocation ceremony of Al-Hikmah University officially commenced with the Vice- Chancellor’s Press briefing on Monday 4th October 2023 at the university Council Chamber, Adeta campus, Ilorin, Kwara state. Eminent Nigerians among the graduands included the Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun; and Chief of Staff to former President Muhammadu Buhari, Amb. Ibrahim Gambari.
Al-Hikmah University stands out among Nigerian universities as a conventional private university. The Islamic university is located in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. It was founded in 2005 by AbdulRaheem Oladimeji Islamic Foundation based in Nigeria and World Assembly of Muslim Youths based in Jeddah. Professor Muhammed Taofeek Olalekan Ibrahim is the immediate past Vice-chancellor.
According to report, a total of 1,584 graduates, comprising 1,207 Undergraduates, 343 Postgraduates and 31 Diploma Certificate holders. Out of the Undergraduates, 26 had First Class, 472 – Second Class Upper, 600 – Second Class Lower and 109 -Third Class. For the Post Graduate graduands, 27 were Ph.D while 213 were Masters graduands.
On Saturday, dignitaries at the convocation ceremony included the Vice President of the country, his excellency, Sen. Kashim Shettima, GCON, Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Kayode Alabi, Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters (Office of the Vice President), Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Al-Hikmah University, Alhaja Sekinat Yusuf, the Registrar of the University, the Founder of the University, Alhaji (Dr.)AbdulRaheem Oladimeji, Senators representing Kwara State at the National Assembly among others.
