As much as it closely seems, to some parties, that our deeds are not being recorded or marked for rewards/paybacks, it pays to know that those deeds we put up are being recorded and are due for recompense or repayment, as a reward for them, according to what has been put out. What will be the reward of each one, according to his/her act, will not exceed or go below the recommended/stipulated value, as propounded by Allah SWT, and no deed shall go without its full recompense, for our Lord is One that is void of any form of bias.
The life we live here, in our present level/stage of existence, is transient and trivial, and the rewards we gather from our deeds herein are what will make for what to ultimately expect or receive in the life of the hereafter, as the recompense for our most dominant deeds, which may be either good or bad. Before the ultimate reward of Jannah and the pleasurable feelings surrounding it, or Jahannam alongside the woes its entangled in, in the hereafter, are the worldly rewards of what we put out as deeds, which are what we are expected to witness as a prove of Allah’s promise of His recompense in this world, before transcending to the next.
Being conscious of Allah’s favorable treatment as well as His punishment will brighten, and brighten more, the lights of the realization of how our deeds are not without their deserving rewards, in our minds. This, for a reasoning person, will surely be realized that what should be put forward at most times are actions tending towards good, for good is what begets good and bad begets none other than bad.
“Allah has promised those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, that for them there is forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise).” Surah Al-Maidah 5:9.
As for he who transgresses and prefers the life of this world [instead], then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.” Surah Al-Lail 92:14-15.
For every deed is a deserving recompense with the ultimate reward of Jannah or jahannam, each preceded by situations of either hardship or ease that may be associated with Jahannam or Jannah respectively, in this world. May Allah keep us firm on what will make us deserving of His pleasurable rewards, both in this world and the hereafter, Aameen.
