Born in February 1940, the distinguished educator breathed his last on Sunday in Ilorin, where he had a profound impact as the founder of the esteemed Muhyi-Deen College of Arabic and Islamic Studies. This institution holds the distinction of being the first in Ilorin to confer diplomas in Arabic and Islamic studies. Additionally, Sheikh Sahban established the Muhyideen College of Education, a trailblazing privately owned institution that granted NCE awards in Ilorin.

The Governor extols the remarkable achievements of this pioneering scholar, emphasizing his far-reaching influence on education in Kwara State and the positive transformation he brought to the lives of countless individuals who passed through these educational institutions. On behalf of the people and the government of Kwara State, the Governor extends heartfelt condolences to the Sheikh’s family, the College community, and all his students worldwide, recognizing their significant contributions to the realms of Arabic and Islamic knowledge and national development.

The Governor seeks to console the family and students by highlighting the enduring legacy and exceptional accomplishments of the late scholar, attributing his rise to prominence to unwavering diligence, an insatiable thirst for knowledge, a commitment to community service, and the benevolence of God.
