Dignitaries, including Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar, Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero, and Emir of Ilorin Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, are set to attend the commissioning of Muhammad Kamalud-deen University (MKU) in Oloje-Ogidi, Ilorin, on Saturday.
Former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Sinatu Ojikutu, the Iya Adini of Ansarul Islam Society, will also be present.
Accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on June 9, 2023, MKU, established by the Ansarul Society of Nigeria, is described as a university with a distinctive approach by its Pro-Chancellor, Prof Shuaib AbdulRaheem.
He highlighted the institution’s unique combination of spirituality and sociality, aiming to benefit its graduates in both the worldly and spiritual aspects. Reflecting on the visionary founder, Muhammed Kamalud-deen Al-Adabiyy, Prof AbdulRaheem emphasized his impactful integration of western education into Arabic and Islamic schools, modernizing and standardizing Arabic education in Nigeria despite opposition.
