Al-Usrah Children Home is a Muslim Orphanage Home located in the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. It was established by the Al-Usrah Incorporated, a knowledge-based Islamic organisation that provides Quaranic education, sensitizes and create Islamic awareness among Muslims residing in Port Harcourt and environs.
In early 1994, some former members of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) came together to form a group, which later metamorphosed into Al-Usrah Inc., Port-Harcourt. The main intention was to sensitize the Muslim Community on Islamic awareness.
Similarly, Al-Usrah was formally inaugurated on June 12, 1994 at the Mile 1 Central Mosque, Port-Harcourt, with about 50 foundation members among them, distinguished academics, other professionals and business men. Membership has since grown to over 2,000.
