Yusuf Aminat Imoitesemeh, a law student at Lagos State University (LASU), received the highest grade point average (CGPA) of 5.0, making her the best graduating student for the academic year 2021–2022.
The VC remarked that this accomplishment was both admirable and significant because it was the first in the university’s 40-year history. On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, announced a University Award of N500k to her for the accomplishment.

Aminat Yusuf is interested in corporate and commercial law practice, and her intellectual curiosity prompted her to enroll in finance-related courses, including the CFA Investment Foundations Program. As a result of her internships with renowned law firms like Olaniwun Ajayi LP, Primus Grace LP, Omaplex Law Firm, and M.A. Banire and Associates, she has the technical skills, pertinent soft skills, and ideals necessary for success in the legal industry. She has also completed a certificate program with Jobberman Soft Skills Training.
In addition, Aminat Yusuf is an alumna of Al-Hikmat College, Agege a member of Al-Hikmat Schools.
Her school, Lagos State University, emerged the Best University in Nigeria and the West Africa sub-region in the newly released 2022 UI GreenMetrics global Ranking. The citadel of learning was established in 1983 by the enabling law of Lagos State with the vision of pursuing the advancement of learning and academic excellence.
