Hajj: Oyo First Flight Pilgrims Airlifted to Mecca


The Muslim Wing Oyo State Pilgrim Welfare’s Board has started airlifting intending Muslim pilgrims from the state to the Holy Land of Saudi Arabia for the 2023 Hajj exercise.

The board in a statement said, “the first batch of the intending pilgrims aboard Aero Contractor Airline departed Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos to Medina, Saudi Arabia at 11:50pm on Thursday night.”

“The number of the first batch of intending pilgrims airlifted on Thursday night is Four Hundred and Seventy-Five (475), comprising 236 male and 239 female.”

The statement added that, the second batch of the intending pilgrims are expected to be airlifted on Friday and will be followed by third and fourth batches.
