To bid them farewell, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq accompanied pilgrims from Kwara to the Ilorin International Airport on Friday night.
The first batch of pilgrims to be airlifted from the country to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj in 2023.
As a means to connect with them, the Governor has made it a habit to pay intended pilgrims a courtesy visit at their camp before accompanying them to the airport.
An maiden aircraft carrying pilgrims from Nasarawa State marked the start of the airlift of pilgrims by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Thursday.
Governor AbdulRazaq met the pilgrims during his visit, and they all took turns complimenting him on his humility.
In addition, they prayed for his success during his second time in office. The Governor then wished them a safe flight and arrival.
On Monday, AbdulRazaq, who was elected again, will take office for a second term.
Additionally, he has been elected Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), and his colleagues have placed their trust in him to lead the forum.
