The Governor of Oyo State, Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde’s name has been removed from Adogba Central Mosque. On Saturday, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) kicked against the decision of the Oyo State government to rename a popular central mosque on Iwo Road, Ibadan, after the Governor.

In October 2019, Governor Makinde declared at a Friday Jumah service that the Adogba Central Mosque would be destroyed to make room for an interchange (bus terminal).

Over four years after the governor’s commitment, the main mosque has now been constructed in a different location.

An Arabic school, an Islamic Model School, a Research Center, a Library, an Events Hall, ample Parking Space, and a solid Road Network are all located inside its complex.

Since May 29, 2019, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde has presided as the governor of Oyo State.
