In a month FCT Hajj Board Sign up 600 plus Intending Pilgrims for 2023 Hajj- Report

Every Muslim of faith who is physically and financially able should make the hajj at least once in their lifetime according to the Quran. Manwhile, the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has so far registered over forty percent of its last year’s hajj allocation for this year’s Hajj exercise, official report stated.

The Board has collected deposit from those who wish to perform the Hajj through the Board because of its outstanding services in previous operations, a statement from the Director of the Board, Mallam Muhammad Nasiru Danmallam said.

He noted that prospective Intending Pilgrims have deposited a minimum of Two Million Five Hundred Naira (N2, 500,000.00) only to book their seat for the exercise across the six area councils and the head office of the Board located at the central business district, Abuja.

The registration is on first-come–first–served basis via a Bank draft in line with the principle of fairness in the services of residents of the territory, the Director indicated.

Mallam Muhammad said, intending pilgrims who wishes to partake in the exercise are expected to present a bank draft of minimum of N2,500,000.00 (Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira) only payable to the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja to book for a seat for the 2023 hajj exercise pending the release of the actual hajj fare by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Adding that the Board has resolved to redouble its effort to enhance services to the registered Intending Pilgrims through the new strategies introduced for the forthcoming Hajj exercise.

The hajj traces the pilgrimage taken by Prophet Muhammad some 1,400 years ago. His path, in turn, is believed to trace the footsteps of the prophets Ibrahim and Ismail, or Abraham and Ishmael.
