Israel’s occupying forces Murdered 16-year-old Jana Majdi Zakarneh in Palestine

Jana Majdi Zakarneh, a 16-year-old Palestinian, was on the roof in her pyjamas, playing with her cat on Sunday evening, when Israeli forces shot her multiple times, twice in the face. The following day, the shock of Jana’s death can be felt in Jenin city, where she was killed.

Israel’s military admitted that one of its soldiers killed a teenage girl, although it claims that the soldiers hit her unintentionally after allegedly firing at Palestinian gunmen in the area. According to the United Nations, this year has already seen the highest number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank since 2006. Israel has murdered at least 53 Palestinian children this year, 15 of whom were from Jenin.

Several bullets reportedly injured Jana Majdi Zakarneh while she stood on the roof of her home, according to witnesses. Yasser Zakarneh, a relative of hers, stated: “Thirteen shots were fired by the occupation forces at Jana. Four hit her body — two in the head and two in the chest. … She was killed by the occupation forces. Their bullets are here. And the occupation army was around 500 meters away from her, in the building in front of her. All the bullets shot were fired from the same building.”

Jana didn’t hurt anyone, break any laws, or even try to do anything bothersome. She is only reliving her youth and daydreaming about the future.

She had no idea that an Israeli sniper would shoot her to death with a bullet filled only with hatred, bigotry, terrorism, and conceit.

What will become of the murderers? The killers will get away with it, as they always have when a Palestinian victim and an Israeli criminal are involved, and they will be lauded for their bravery by their governments, officials, and communities.

Without any justification, Jana and numerous other children were slaughtered, and as long as we remain silent, the death toll will rise. Take action and speak out against the worst crime of the modern era. Inform your authorities that you do not want to live in this planet.
