Lawmaker, Abdul-Sobur Olawale, Omititi, Buried in Lagos


On Wednesday, when the body of Hon. Abdul-Sobur Olayiwola Olawale, 60, who passed away in Jos, Plateau State on Tuesday, was received by members and staff of the Lagos State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, it was all tears.

The legislator’s remains were transported to his home in a procession that included Dr. Obasa, other politicians, the Lagos State Legislators Wives Association (LASLEWA), friends, family, and acquaintances of the deceased after they arrived at the Murtala Mohammed Airport in the afternoon.

Later, the body was taken to the Ebony Vaults, where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Obafemi Hamzat joined the mourning.

The demise of the politician, who until his death represented Mushin Constituency 2 and served as chair of the House Committee on Local Government and Community Relations, was announced by the Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday.
