Kwara Gov appoints Umar Mohammed Attahiru as SA on Sports, Youth Development

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the appointment of Patigi-born Umar Mohammed Attahiru as Special Adviser on Youths and Sports Development, according to a statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor on November 13, 2022.

The statement said, “Mohammed, known in political circles as ‘Captain’, is a grassroots mobiliser, a Sports enthusiast, and a long-standing ally of the Governor.

The new Special Adviser Youths to Kwara Governor holds a Higher National Diploma certificate in chemical engineering from Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa. Umar Mohammed’s appointment takes immediate effect.

Similarly, the statement added that the Governor has also approved the appointment of Mohammed Ndako Aliyu, also from Patigi, as Special Assistant Teachers for Kwara North — a few days after the Governor made similar picks for Kwara South and Central to be the specific go-between for the government and teachers in the concerned senatorial districts.
