80 Orphans Receives A PAC Member Assistance from SOZECOM


In the Arkilla and Kalambaina districts, mothers and guardians have been urged to ensure enrolment and retention of their orphans in the classrooms. Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki Sadaukin Sakkwato, executive chairman of the Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment Commission (SOZECOM), made the appeal while distributing meat, food, and financial aid to orphans in the Arkilla and Kalambaina district areas of the Wamakko Local Government of Sokoto State, Nigeria, that had been donated by a PAC member.

According to Sadaukin Sakkwato, the call was necessary so as to enable the orphans acquire both western and Islamic education to guarantee a secure future for the good of the children and society at large.

The donor, who wished to remain anonymous, was a member of the PAC medical team that visited Sokoto State last week and performed both surgical and medical outreaches missions, according to Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki. He claimed that in addition to the medical outreach for detainees at the Correctional Center Sokoto; SOZECOM Waqf Hospital, Yabo, Kalambaina and Achida districts, surgical procedures were performed at the UDUTH and Maryam Abacha Women and Children Hospitals, with over 80 successful operations and 2,000 beneficiaries of the medical outreach.

The Commission noted that items disbursed consisted of two big cows, ten 50kg bags of foreign rice and two hundred thousand naira cash provided to the beneficiaries as transport.

From the village regions of the benefiting districts, 40 orphans were chosen on merit from each district and screened appropriately. He utilized the forum to thank the state administration and the sultanate council for their support of his commission.

The district of head of the area and Uban Doman Arkilla Alh Aliyu Hassan thanked the donor and SOZECOM for the kindness shown to his community earlier in a welcoming address to the neighborhood. He referred to SOZECOM as the most committed government organization in Sokoto’s 87 districts to the welfare of the most disadvantaged communities. Uban Doman Arkilla Alh Aliyu Hassan expressed gratitude to the SOZECOM for helping the poor and underprivileged.

In a prayer of gratitude, the district head of Kalambaina’s representative asked Allah to reward everyone who had helped make the event successful.

A package of beef, a 25kg bag of rice, and two thousand five naira (N2,500) for transportation to their various destinations were handed to each of the 80 benefiting orphans.
