What a huge loss for this Ummah, a sea of wisdom and kindness. The late Shaykh ‘Uzayr Shams was Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd’s disciple and was given the responsibility of heading the committee responsible for performing taḥqīq on the writings of Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim.
A sympathizer noted:

‘O’ Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those present and those absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whom amongst us You keep alive, then let such a life be upon Islam, and whom amongst us You take unto Yourself, then let such a death be upon faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward and do not let us stray after him.

His first published book was his verification of “Raf Al-Iltibas min Ba’din Naas” (Arabic) of Allamah Shamsul Haq Azeemabadi and it was published by Idarah Al-Buhuth Al-Islamiyah bil Jamiyah Salafiyah bi Banaris in 213 pages.
