The biggest mosque in southern Nigeria is widely acknowledged to be the Arafat Mosque. The Police Area Command, the INEC office, the L.G.A. Secretariat, the Civil Defense Office, and even Maximum Prison are all at the core of it. Arafat Mosque is where the Royal Palace observe congregational prayers. Professor Zakarriya Oseni (Waziri of Auchi Sacred Kingdom) is the current Chief Imam of the mosque.
The historic capital of the Etsako people and the entire Edo north is Auchi Sacred Kingdom, which is also the second-largest city in Edo state after Benin, the state’s biggest city. The town, which is a part of Edo State’s Etsako West Local Government Area, serves as the seat of the local government. Uzairue, South Ibie, Agbede, and The Anwain Clan are other towns in the jurisdiction of Etsako West. It served as the administrative center for five districts during British colonial control as the Kukuruku Division’s main office. It is the home of Auchi Polytechnic.
The town has long been a significant Islamic hub. Regardless of religion, people coexist peacefully. The cultural and religious variety of the town has been greatly influenced by the hospitable and inviting spirit of the Auchi people.
