Dr. Sirajo Salisu has being has appointed as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Jaiz Bank.
Following the retirement of the current MD, Mallam Hassan Usman, Salisu’s appointment would go into effect on October 16th, 2022, according to a statement signed by Mohammed Shehu, the company secretary.
Given that Salisu has 28 years of actual banking expertise, the management and board believe that his entry would assist to improve the bank even further.
Career
Salisu began his banking career in 1992 as a supervisor with Inland Bank Plc and advanced to the rank of General Manager with First Inland Bank Plc in 2009.
He was appointed the Managing Director/CEO, Arab Gambian Islamic Bank (AGIB) in 2009, a position he occupied till January 2015.
Before being appointed Regional Manager, FCT, Abuja, he held a number of management positions in the bank, including those in operations, credit administration, and business development.
In addition to managing the bank’s treasury division, Salisu joined Jaiz Bank in 2016 and assumed the role of Regional Manager (South).
After being named Chief Risk Officer of the bank in 2018, he eventually advanced to Executive Director.
Before the recent appointment, he works as the bank’s executive director for business development in the north.
Sirajo is a Fellow Institute of Credit Administration (FICA), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), and Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN)
