In response to the death of an Islamic cleric, Sheikh Aisami Goni Gashua, in Yobe State, the Nigerian Army has discharged two soldiers.
Lance Corporals John Gabriel and Adamu Gideon are two of the dismissed soldiers.
A joint board of investigation formed up in partnership with the police found them guilty, according to Lt Col. Ibrahim Osabo, acting commander officer in charge of the 241 Reece battalion at Nguru, Yobe State.
Lt Col. Osabo noted that, the two soldiers were dismissed on a two-count charge of failure to perform duties and conduct prejudice to service discipline.
He added that the dismissed soldiers will be handed over to the police in Damaturu for prosecution in court of law.
The Muslim Voice NG hadst reported the killing of Sheikh Aisami Goni-Gashua earlier this month.
