Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, the Sultan of Sokoto, has promised the nation’s disabled citizens maximum support.
He said, “I will be a good friend of the commission as well as wheelchair -friendly father to those who are challenged in the society.”
During a Monday visit to his palace in Sokoto, the Sultan made a commitment to always provide his assistance while hosting Mr. James David Lalu, the secretary of the National Commission for Persons Living with Disabilities, and his staff.
In addition, the respected monarch also called on leaders across the nation to make use of same zeal and dedication used in the defeat of polio in the country to support the physically challenged in the society.
Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar is the 20th Sultan of Sokoto. As Sultan of Sokoto, he is considered the spiritual leader of Northern Nigeria’s Muslims, the majority of the nation’s population.
