PHOTO NEWS: 2022 Ghusl e Ka’bah Ceremony in Masjid Al Haram


At the Ghusl Ceremony yesterday in Masjid Al Haram, photographs were taken from inside and outside the Ka’bah. 

A few images depict the interior of the historic home.

A picture of an elderly man clutching the Ka’bah door key.

Similarly, another image depicts Al-Multazam, which is around two meters long and located between the Black Stone and the Ka’bah entryway.

His Royal Highness The Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, President of the Haramain Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, and the Imaams of Masjid Al Haram participated in the annual Kaaba Ghusl (Washing) Ceremony 1444/2022.

 

Additionally, one of the images displays the Ka’bah’s interior hangings. These are the oil lamps and containers that are designed for decorating. Some of these include fragrance and incense. Many of these collection “ancient oil lamps and relics were presented by Kings, Sultans and Rulers of History.” The marble chest Oud and scents used to wash and sanitize the Ka’bah are contained inside! 

The text that appears in the inscription on the wall inside the Ka’bah is depicted in one of the images as the following: “In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful. All praise is for Allah, lord of the world and may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the most noble of messengers, our leader Muhammad ﷺ and upon his family and upon all of his companions.”  

While the roof of the Ka’bah is accessible from the interior door! As Makkah was being taken over, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, is claimed to have entered the Ka’bah and worshipped there. This location is also depicted in the image.

In the month of Rabi’ Al Awwal, 1397 AH, King Khaled bin Abdul Aziz Aal Sau’d, the custodian of the two Holy Mosques, gave the order to renovate the stairs of the holy Ka’bah.

 

The Ghusl e Ka’bah ceremony has been completed, as seen in the final photographs, and the front curtain of the entryway of the Ka’bah is being dropped.
